Dr. Chris Hummel
I graduated from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. I spent time practicing in Houston, Texas, and the greater bay area in northern
California before moving to the greater Phoenix area in 2003. Since coming to the valley, I have worked in multiple veterinary hospitals within the
Pet Vet family of hospitals as a relief veterinarian. I started working as full time veterinarian at Goodyear Animal Hospital from July 2005 to September
2007 before transferring to Westbrook Animal Hospital as an owner veterinarian in 2007. I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine from surgery to
medicine in both dogs and cats. I am working towards board certification in general practice.
My spouse and I live in northwest Phoenix with our 3 wonderful dogs, Maggie, Adam and Austin, all of whom have their own special medical problems; our 2 cats, Kazi and Stach-a-rue, and many fresh water fish. When we are not working, I enjoy playing with the dogs, touring Arizona on my motorcycle, caring for my fledgling Plumeria collection, reading and writing.
Dr. John Schroeder
I was born and raised in Iowa where I started my career in the veterinary field working as a kennel assistant, gradually working my way up to tending to the front desk and assisting doctors with office visits.
I attended University of Northern Iowa for my undergraduate work and then graduated from Iowa State as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2017.
In my free time, I enjoy cycling and working on craft projects. My girlfriend Amy and I also love to travel, visiting different countries, as well as all the local craft breweries. We recently adopted Piper, a Dachshund/Terrier puppy, who loves to cuddle and explore the new state with us. I am so happy to join the AZPetVet Westbrook family!
