Microchipping

Microchipping provides an extra level of protection in case your pet is lost or loses his collar and tags. Using a large gauge needle, a tiny chip is implanted just under the skin, usually between the shoulder blades. No anesthesia is necessary. In case of a stray or lost pet, veterinarians and animal shelters can use a special scanner to read the information on the chip, and contact the owner of the pet.

Providing your pets with a sturdy collar, tags and a microchip can help give them the best chance of returning home if they get lost.
