Dental Health

Dental disease is the most common problem we find when we see pets during their annual physical exams. Most owners do not commonly look in their pet’s mouth to check the teeth, so they are usually surprised at the amount of tartar their pet has built up.

Tartar, gingivitis, broken teeth, periodontal disease, and growths are very common in the mouths of middle-aged and older pets. We recommend you check your pet’s mouth regularly and, if your pet will allow it, brush their teeth. Most of the disease we find is farther back in the mouth, so make sure you inspect the back teeth.

Types of dental treatments we provide:

  • Routine dental cleanings and polishing
  • Dental extractions
  • Digital dental radiographs
  • Root planning and periodontal treatment
  • Gum surgery
  • Jaw surgery (fracture repair)
